Frequently Asked Questions
What is this whole Wavy thing and why do I need it?
Wavy exists to help you find experiences worth catching. Through expert-sourced recommendations that match your preferences, Wavy gives you local things do you, for you. Whether it’s for your next date night, outing with your pals, or a big adventure on the weekend, we’ve got you covered.
What’s behind the name?
A very wise and unfortunately unnamed surfer once said, “there are a million ways to surf, and as long as you’re smiling, you’re doing it right”.
This has absolutely no relation to why or how Wavy’s name was chosen, but we do like the quote. In fact, the founders may or may not have been on a boat when the lightbulb moment happened.
What lies behind the name Wavy is a certain feeling. A feeling of spontaneity, of not knowing what’s next, and some gosh darn fun. At the end of the day, we’re here to make sure you always have something to do, something to look forward to, and hopefully, have a smile on your face.
How can I get Wavy?
Wavy is a membership-based community (it costs $3.99 a month to join). As a Wavy member, you will get weekly guides sent to your phone, early access to the app, events that are known to cause FOMO, and members-only perks and discounts that help you explore or escape Toronto to the fullest.
One small thing to note - our app is not Android-friendly just yet. We will update you once we’ve solved that puzzle.
Where is it available?
Wavy can help you explore Toronto, both inside and out. That’s right - if you want to escape the city for the day (or weekend), we have recommendations for you in Hamilton, Prince Edward County and Collingwood. Thinking of doing a mini-staycation in the city? We have few spots in mind for that too.
Drop us a line at [email protected] if you’re from outside Toronto and would like to use Wavy to explore your city. We’ll be expanding soon and would love your input on where we should set sail next.
Why is Wavy sliding into my texts?
Come on, we can all admit that we hate checking our email. Not only does it remind us of work, but it’d be another step in the process to find the experiences you want to check out. Wavy is making it that much easier for you to access your custom guide through a text message, reminding you of the adventures awaiting you.
Think of our texts as a weekly reminder that your backyard is bigger than you think.
Do I need the Wavy app if I receive my weekly guides through text?
We totally get it, who isn’t pushing the limits on their phone storage these days?
The Wavy app will be available to all members and will act as a hub for you to keep your favourite gems and upcoming activities. It will also allow you to do in-the-moment searches, whether you’re looking for a great coffee spot in Leslieville, finding live music on Dundas West, or are chasing waterfalls in Hamilton.
It is definitely worth the download.
