New roles, who this?

Product Update 🛠️

New roles, who this? 👋 We’ve reorganized user roles in Wavy to better reflect how your team works - and make permissions simpler and more powerful.

Here's the breakdown of what’s new:

🧭 3 Clear Roles: Admin, Planner, and Employee

  • Admins (formerly known as Organizers): Have full visibility across your org. From managing events and invoices, to reviewing feedback and digging deep in the Analytics Dashboard—Admins do it all.

  • Planners: Our newest role! These are the folks leading the charge on event planning—whether it’s for the whole company, a department, or an ERG. Planners can publish events and view feedback only on their own events. They don’t have access to analytics or events they didn’t create.

  • Employees (formerly Attendees): Can view and RSVP to upcoming events, give feedback, and stay in the loop. They don’t see the Marketplace or templates, but they can now request to become a Planner right from the platform. 🎉

🧑‍💻 Request to Plan Events

Employees can now raise their hand to get involved! Just click “Request to Plan Events” and your team Admin will get an email notification. Admins can grant or deny access from the User Settings page.

➕ Manage Access Easily

Need to add more Planners or Admins? You can update your seat count in Company Settings.:

  • Click the dropdown in the top left

  • Go to Company Settings > Plans & Pricing > Manage

  • Add Admin or Planner seats as needed

You can also manually update any user’s role at any time under Team Settings.

This update is part of aligning permissions with our new plans at Wavy - and giving your team the visibility and flexibility to collaborate the way you want. 🎯

As always, let us know what you think!
